The need for safer surfaces on children's play areas is well publicised and with the strong belief that it will become required by legislation in the near future. The Local Authorities are already having safety surfaces installed in areas under their supervision. Happy Landings® wetpour is produced and laid in-situ, providing a smooth, level, continuous surface without trip hazards. The material is laid snugly around equipment supports, thus eliminating weak points and ensuring maximum safety. The surface is extremely durable and requires little maintenance. For outdoor use, being porous, it allows water to drain away, leaving the surface usable in a short time. Under normal circumstances the surface is resistant to slip, non-abrasive, hard wearing and non-flammable. It also boasts vital built-in properties which make it impact absorbent to conform with the Free Fall Height (FFH) of any single piece of play equipment, providing that the correct thickness of surface is chosen. Happy Landings safety surfaces have been tested in accordance with the procedures and guide lines set out in British Standard 7188:1989 (incorporating European Standard EN1177) and is installed in accordance with BS 5696: Part 3: 1979 (play equipment intended for permanent installation outdoors).
